This traditional looking holiday light set is approved for indoor or outdoor use. The string of lights is 24 feet long with 70 multi-colored LED lights. LED lights use about one-tenth of the electrical current of the more commonly used incandescent lights. The average lifetime of LED lights is ten times longer than traditional Christmas lights. They are also encased in thick plastic rather than flimsy glass, so mistakenly stepping on one won't result in a holiday tragedy. If a bulb does get damaged, the rest of the string will stay lit. Caring for LED lights is simple with such a long life and tough casing. Users can simply roll them up and store them at the end of the holiday and fully expect to come back next year and find them still functioning.

I bought this product for outdoor use around my upstairs window, facing the street. My neighbors have been adding more lights the past few Christmas holidays and I felt I should make my contribution. I'll try to make my description a technical one, to give the best overall view of the product.

The lights are about average in brightness and come in four colors: red, amber, green, and blue. The bulb portion is roughly cone-shaped and about one inch long. The bulbs are textured to produce variation in brightness depending on the viewing angle, a kind of glittering effect. Each bulb is an LED, which are polarized. This means the connections have both a positive and negative terminal. If reversed, the bulb won't work. For this reason, the sockets for the bulbs are "key-shaped" so that the bulbs will only easily insert in the correct orientation. I received two spare bulbs, red and amber.
One or two reviewers commented on dead strings. I suspect a forcibly reversed bulb might be involved. Not wanting to damage my string, I am reluctant to test this theory.

Each bulb is spaced at about four inch intervals and connected to it's neighbors by four green wires; a bundle about the diameter of a pencil. As a result, the string is fairly stiff and heavy. The coiling forces cause the string to twist slightly so that the bulbs tend to face alternating directions. Picture a zig-zag stitch. The coiling forces tend to frustrate any attempt to point the lights in a specific direction. For the use of decorating a tree or outside window this causes no problems since the light is well dispersed. These have been on for a couple of weeks now with out any burnt out lights..Knock-on-Wood. Last years Commercial Garbage Brand was a big mistake. Paid Big Bucks For Them as well as shipping them & they were junk.

I needed more strings than I ordered, but the local True Value Store had them as well for 5 bucks more a string...Oh well...Had to have them.

So in closing I would give these a 3.5 Stars out of 5. Since some of the plastic colored lenses come off pretty easy. Lost a few due to our high winds, But they kept burning.

Needless to say. I would buy them again with Free Shipping Only.

I think that these lights use about 4 watts / hour so I let my child decorate her room with them and don't worry if she forgets to turn them off. -- Great LED lights! Prompt service from the company!
