in our house we have "X-mas" light window hangings for all seasons; a light up 4-leaf clover, Easter bunny, American flags, Jack-o-lanterns, etc. This thing helped me fix some of them. In trimming back our hedge I cut through my wifes Xmas tree lights. This mistake cleared out all my Brownie points. I was in a hopeless situation, for when I resoldiered the wiring together the lights would not function. I had a big problem, no lights for Xmas. An article on the Web recommended this product as a likely tool to remedy the fault. No doubt about it, the ULT1201 restored operation not only in the Xmas lights, but also my reputation as a tinker. Not only did this product fix a portion of lights on an outdoor metal pole Christmas tree on the first try, but its voltage detector also set off its alarm wherever I placed the unit against the metal pole and base of the tree. Electricity was flowing through the entire metal structure of the tree, not just the lights! Luckily the pole had a heavy coating of paint on it, but there were a few areas where the paint had chipped off or the metal was rusting. I was not even expecting that to be an issue with the tree, but this unit detected it! I have another device that detects high voltages, and it also showed that the entire tree pole and base was electrified! It is amazing how many different features that they have packed into this device! After all those years of pulling out bulbs and replacing them one at a time to find a bad bulb are over! Not only is this a great product at a great price, but it may also save your life!

I rarely write reviews, but this little goodie blew me away. I must say I was skeptical when I ordered it, but am tired of throwing away strings of lights every season. I used it on a relatively new, kind of expensive, pre-lit tree. I had previously spent a hour messing with the unlit string, fiddling around, with no success. Got this item, followed the simple directions, and literally, in 5 minutes, fixed. Highly recommended. -- Wow!!!
